Learning software development by building real projects.

I’m a computer science student in Christchurch with a growing interest in full-stack development, software engineering and practical problem-solving.

Alongside my university studies, I build personal and team projects that let me apply programming concepts to real interfaces, databases and user workflows.

I’m currently developing my technical foundations while looking for internship and entry-level opportunities where I can learn from experienced developers, contribute to real products and continue growing as a software engineer.

Full-Stack Web Application2026

CampusLoop

A responsive web application designed to help university students discover campus events, clubs and activities through one searchable platform.

  • Designed event browsing, category filtering and saved-event workflows.
  • Built reusable React components for event cards, navigation and account interfaces.
  • Created a relational database structure for events, categories and user bookmarks.
  • Implemented account authentication and basic user-specific functionality.
  • Tested responsive behaviour across desktop and mobile layouts.
OutcomeBuilt an end-to-end personal project that connected frontend interfaces with authentication and relational application data.

Personal Finance Application2026

PocketPath

A budgeting application concept designed for students to record spending, understand monthly patterns and track progress toward savings goals.

  • Worked in a three-person student development team.
  • Helped translate project requirements into application features and development tasks.
  • Implemented transaction entry and spending-category functionality.
  • Created summary views showing budget usage and monthly expenditure.
  • Used Git branches and pull requests to coordinate code contributions.
OutcomeCompleted a collaborative software project demonstrating application structure, database integration and team-based version control.

Hackathon Prototype2025

StudySync

A rapid prototype for matching students who are taking the same courses and looking for compatible study times.

  • Developed the prototype as part of a small team during a student hackathon.
  • Helped define the matching workflow based on course and availability information.
  • Built frontend views for profiles, groups and study sessions.
  • Connected interface components to sample application data.
  • Presented the final prototype and development process to other participants.
OutcomeProduced a working team prototype within a limited development window while gaining experience in rapid collaboration and scope prioritisation.

Computer Science Learning Tool2025

AlgoView

An interactive browser-based tool that visualises common algorithms and data structures to make execution behaviour easier to understand.

  • Implemented visual demonstrations of sorting algorithms using animated array elements.
  • Added controls for speed, input size and execution steps.
  • Displayed basic comparisons between algorithm behaviour and performance.
  • Structured the application so additional algorithms could be added over time.
  • Used the project to reinforce university learning around algorithms and computational complexity.
OutcomeTurned theoretical computer science concepts into an interactive project while strengthening frontend programming skills.
